If people who used mods went ONLY to the mod authors wen the mod broke their game,s and got their game, and the mod fixed by ONLY the mod author, I would have no issue.

As a Modder, I have ZERO tolerance for Modders who reverse engineer games, crack game files, and create unauthorized, unsupported mods and waste studio, dev and player time, and are not willing or capable of supporting their own mod when it breaks the game they made it for.

Wasting the studio's time and money, and making the devs wonder what is broken in their game, when the game is not broken, the MOD is. The currently available TLD Mods that are unsupported out there DO have some cosmetics and small QoL stuff, but all thrown in with plain and simple cheats, that can, and do BREAK this game, causing players to come here or to the Atlassian/JIRA bug reporting site, asking Hinterland to fix bugs and glitches caused by the MOD, not the GAME. But I respect the work put into the programming and coding in a game, and will not Mod it without support from the devs who put their life and hearts into making it.

As a programmer and coder, I always want to learn. I know the mods that are out there for this game, I have checked them all out, becaus as a Modder. Jiffy asked about THIS game, I amswered about THIS game. The mods that are out there for THIS game, not any Bethesda or Blizzard or any other game.

The only game that has any sort of scope next to this one is Skyrim itself, and considered that game has been on the top 5 most played (and sold) games ever since it came out in 2011, It only remains to be seen whether this is a permanent stance or until they've (understandably) begin to zip up development on this game and move on.Дr. Hinterland doesn't give any sort of modding support yet, and they've adopted a somewhat hardline stance against it, which is a true shame. It will also mark your Steam profile permanently, tagging you as a cheater and therefore, an undesirable. In protected games (such as those with VAC), using them will result in a permanent expulsion from the community and you won't be able to play them online anymore. I do not see the harm done to anyone or anything other than the user's own fun, but they should be very much prohibited in multiplayer titles because their sole purpose is to obtain unfair advantage over others.

I am very pro-modding, and on cheating I have a divided opinion. Some 'games', in fact, revolve entirely around modding, such as Garry's Mod which is one of the most popular games on Steam, which is basically a Source Engine sandbox where you can do just about any sort of funny thing using Half-Life 2's assets.Д¬heats, such as trainers and helpers, in the other hand, are something designed to intentionally hack the game's memory in order to produce a desired effect that the game was not intended to do, usually to obtain an advantage such as unlimited health or something.

We PC players of Bethesda games (makers of Skyrim and Fallout 4) swear by the Nexus for all our needs, but Beth allows mods to be loaded and offers a free hosting service even for the Xbox One and the PS4 (which you can access on PC but, it really pales in comparison to the Nexus), so there's a thing to consider - they're really not 'dirty cheats', but rather things that really enhance the experience or add a lot more content to play with ) Mods are user-created content, that add, enhance, or even totally convert a game into something else, like what you'd find on sites like the Nexus for Skyrim and Fallout 4, games that have literally tens of thousands (in fact, Skyrim has over 50 thousand user files at the Nexus) - this is what people want for TLD, take a look at this: I'll explain in detail for you so you can understand better.
